Everything always seems different at night! As familiar as I am with Ann Arbor, I'm always surprised as to how its appearance changes at night. I made these photographs of some iconic landmarks in town using film, a medium format camera and long exposure. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!
On a very cold Sunday morning in January, a group of intrepid photography students (including yours truly) set out to learn about the fundamentals of black and white photography. This medium has captured my interest. It magnifies the effects of lighting and texture. These pictures were taken on the University of Michigan's central campus. The Law Quad is a magnificent example of classic architecture.
